Albion sign up veteran full-back Ingram to add experience

Tadcaster Albion have signed experienced full-back Denny Ingram from Northern Counties East League champions Scarborough Athletic.

The 37-year-old is Albion boss Paul Marshall’s first summer signature.

The defender made more than 200 appearances for Hartlepool United between 1993 and 2001. He has also played for Halifax Town, Harrogate Town and Whitby Town.

Marshall hopes his footballing knowledge can inspire the club’s youngsters to repeat that glory.

He said: “He’s going to be a great recruit to help the young players.

“His experience will be vital for us. He still has a lot of desire to help our young players.”

Albion started their pre-season campaign on Tuesday when they lost 4-3 to Shelley. Jamie Williamson made h is return from injury. Tad’ continue their season preparations at Selby Town on Tuesday before which, Marshall hopes to announce at least two more signings.

Albion face a tough trips to Bishop Auckland on Saturday, August 17 in the FA Cup extra preliminary round.

Should Albion beat the Durham side, they would travel to Evo-Stik Northern Premier side Goole, one of Marshall’s former clubs.

Tad will play Knaresborough Town in a friendly on July 23, kick-off 7.30pm at Manse Lane.
