SATURDAY'S downpour put paid to any hopes of finishing a cricket match in the district, and THIRSK and SESSAY's games proved no exception.
Both Premier Division clashes bit the dust, Thirsk’s game against Easingwold cancelled and Sessay forced to abandon proceedings against Woodhouse Grange at 15-3.

Both sides will be keen to get back to action on Saturday, Sessay welcoming the arrival of Dunnington while Thirsk travel to Malton and Old Malton.

Elsewhere, Division Two pacesetters Ripon reached 103-4 in 16 overs when batting first away at Beverley, for whom Barry Eddon bagged 3-48.

Ripon’s Jan Dijk Van Dyke was the most successful visiting batsman with 47.
