THIRSK CC missed a great chance to close the gap at the top of the York Senior League Premier Division after they slipped to a disappointing defeat against Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Dave Towse and his charges will look to bounce back immediately when they welcome Goole Town to the Racecourse Ground on Saturday (1.30pm start).

On Saturday Dan Hagan scored a superb century for Bridge to guide them home to an important Premier League victory.

Batting first Thirsk made 193-4 through Liam McKendry (52), Des Wyrill (59) and Gary Bolton (45).

However without skipper Towse in the side Phil Hill and Hagan added a 134 run stand with Hill (43) and Hagan pushing through the pacesetters for a seven wicket victory.

Meanwhile SESSAY are right back in the title chasing mixture tomorrow Stephen Langstaff’s men will look to pick up another victory when they travel to defending champions Clifton Alliance on Saturday.

On Saturday Sessay’s batsmen were on top form as they posted a huge 261-4 thanks to Mark Wilkie (31) and Nick Harrison (43) Dave Johnson (71no) and Chris Till (70).

In reply, Mark Thompson made 25 but Wilkie’s fine 5-18 was enough to skittle Zingari for 127.
