FOR the second week running rain has foiled both NORTHALLERTON'S and RICHMONDSHIRE'S chances of challenging for the North Yorkshire South Durham Premier League title.
After the derby washout the week before both Liam Botham and Clive Layfield’s side suffered the same fate when persistent rain fell over the region all day on Saturday.

Third-placed North’ will eye a comeback when they travel to Normanby Hall tomo
rrow (1.30pm start).

The home side are currently struggling for form and are fighting for survival sitting third from bottom in the Premier League.

Hall are just one place above the dreaded drop zone and will be desperate for a full victory to pull them further up the table.

On Saturday Botham’s men were due to welcome mid-table Marton, however the rain put paid to any play with both sides having to settle for a draw.

Meanwhile ‘Shire will be desperate for some sort of action when they travel to Darlington tomorrow.

Layfield’s men need a victory to pull them back into the chasing pack with Bishop Auckland, North’, Guisborough and Middlesbrough threatening to pull away from them in the table.

On Saturday rain was the winner in their home clash against Great Ayton.
