Tractor and motorcycle fatal collision

North Yorkshire Police is investigating after a fatal collision involving motorcycle and a tractor.

It occurred on the A684 at Winton Bank, near Foxton Lane, on the outskirts of Northallerton at about 3.10pm on Sunday (Sept 22).

The collision involved a Yamaha motorcycle heading away from Northallerton and a tractor travelling in the opposite direction.

The man riding the motorcycle was sadly pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Fire and ambulance crews were called to assist and highways officials closed the road until 10:30pm while police investigated.

Witnesses are urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2, and ask for Neil Cholmondeley.

Police are not yet in a position to release his identity.

Traffic Constable Neil Cholmondeley, of North Yorkshire Police’s Roads Policing Group, said: “If you witnessed the collision or saw either of the vehicles involved prior to the incident, I urge you to contact the police straight away.”
