Firefighters have rescued a driver from a flooded ford in Ripon.
Crews were called to Priest Lane at around 1pm yesterday, Tuesday, December 13.
Fire engines winched a vehicle to safety after it became stuck in rising waters.
The man had driven his van into the ford, a fire service spokesman said, but with river levels “considerably higher” than expected the van got stuck in the water.
Fire crews from Ripon and Harrogate came to his rescue, along with swift water rescue teams from Ripon and Richmond.
