Staff at a Sainsbury’s store have raised £6700 for their local hospice charity over the last 12 months.
Workers at Sainsbury’s Northallerton branch have raised the money for the Herriot Hospice Homecare in a variety of ways including an in-store book stall, charity days and cake sales.
They selected Herriot Hospice Homecare, which cares for terminally ill patients in their own homes, as their charity of the year last May, after receiving many nominations from their customers.
The charity had also cared for the husband of one of the stores colleagues before he passed away.
A cheque was presented to fundraiser Victoria Hodgson to mark the end of the partnership last week.
Victoria said “We have been overwhelmed by the support of the staff and customers in Sainsbury’s. It has been a pleasure to work with the team.”
