Nearly 200 parishioners and visitors gathered at the War Memorial in the Pateley Bridge park to commemorate Armistice Day this year.

The traditional service led by ministers from the Church in the Dale is always held on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.

Civic representatives from North Yorkshire County Council, Harrogate Borough Council, Pateley Bridge Town Council and Bewerley Parish Council, together with the fire, police and ambulance services all laid their tributes, along with Menwith Hill, local organisations, the Royal British Legion and other Old Comrades.

A wreath was also laid on behalf of the local MP Julian Smith.

Pupils from Nidderdale High School and St Cuthberts School laid their tributes and at the end of the service a wonderful rendition of the 23rd Psalm was given by St Cuthberts pupils and was much appreciated.

A total of 23 wreaths were laid.
