Rotarians from Amber Valley have paid a visit to the Royal Derby Hospital to see how a major acute city hospital works.

The picture shows the group on the helipad, with President David Hickton standing in as ‘duty fire officer’. The Royal Derby is one of the few hospitals in the UK – and the first in the East Midlands – to have a roof-top helipad, which enables a much more
efficient and speedy delivery of helicopter emergency patients, with direct lift access to resuscitation and theatre facilities, the Rotarians leanred during their visit.
