More than two years of training has paid off for teenage lifesaver, Miles Blakey.
The 13-year-old from Kirby Malzeard brought home both gold and silver medals from the British Stillwater Lifesaving Championships held in Cardiff recently.
The championships saw hundreds of livesavers from around Britain compete in various lifesaving events.
Miles took gold in the Male 13yrs 100m manikin carry with fins and silver in the Male 13yrs 50m manikin carry.
Miles, who trains weekly at Bedale Leisure Centre, has been undertaking intensive training since the beginning of the year to hone his skills.
He was joined in Cardiff by Bedale team mates 14-year-old Megan MacNaught and 15-year-old Mel Calvert.
The trio also train once a week with the RLSS in Blyth, led by a British Commonwealth Lifesaving team coach.
