Richmondshire councillors are looking for two new independent members.
Under the Localism Act 2011 the District Council must appoint an independent person to provide advice on conduct issues affecting its members, and members of parish councils within the area.
It is looking for two local residents, particularly someone with experience in either the legal, commercial, professional or voluntary sectors, to come on board.
One would be the regular member, the other the substitute member.
Training will be provided and there is a small allowance available, together with travel and subsistence expenses.
Applicants must not currently be, or have been within the past five years, elected members, co-opted members or officers of the District Council, or of Town or Parish Councils within the District Council’s area, or a relative or close friend of such persons.
