A MAJOR new plan to guide the development of the northern edge of Northallerton has been adopted by district councillors.
Members of Hambleton’s Cabinet have rubber-stamped the Northallerton Development Masterplan which provides guidance on how a major allocation in the Local Development Framework for housing, employment and recreation should be developed. It outlines almost 1,000 homes, employment land set aside and open space and recreation areas included on the 59-hectare site. There will also be a link road built between Stokesley Road and Darlington Road which will ease traffic pressure on the market town.
“This is an exciting plan for the edge of Northallerton and one which will produce a high quality development to meet the town’s needs up to 2026,” said Coun Tim Swales, Cabinet Member for Planning.
“There has been widespread consultation and as the planning applications start to come in that will continue.”
