Popular attraction Newby Hall is hoping for a repeat success of hosting two events on the same day.

For the first time last year the stately home near Ripon hosted its annual Spring Plant Fair and Cars in the Park vehicle rally together.

Commercial Director for Newby Hall, Stuart Gill said: “Both the exhibitors and visitors enjoyed having both events on the same day, and it helped to create a new audience for each event as lots of visitors who came for the Plant Fair ended up looking at the Cars in the Park and vice versa.

“We certainly enjoyed seeing some of the supercars driving off laden with plants.”

The annual Spring Plant Fair at Newby Hall on Sunday May 8 sees an array of nurseries from all over the north of England displaying and selling unusual, diverse and specialist plants, with a good sprinkling of the more familiar garden favourites.

This year, there is a wealth of new exhibitors, including Blacksmith James Wilkinson who will be using his skills to create stunning contemporary pieces for the garden.

The Fair offers visitors the chance to seek advice for their own gardens, to speak with the exhibitors and take full advantage of their expert knowledge.

Cars in the Park is a casual gathering of sports/super cars including TVR, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Renault, Lotus, Maserati, MX-5, Smart Roadsters, mini and  hot hatches.

Stuart added: “The event brings together large and small car clubs as well as individuals - the variety of the cars makes this a superb event for all car enthusiasts.”

Open from 10am to 4pm, tickets are adults £10.50, seniors £9.50 and children £8.50. The admission price includes entry into both events and to the gardens.
