Former Paralympic hero and “people’s peer” Tanni Grey-Thompson has visited veterans at a Ripon care home.

Lady Grey-Thompson paid a visit to Royal British Legion home Lister House in the city on Thursday, November 24.

The former gold medal winning athlete toured the home and met residents and staff, and even joined in a zumba gold exercise class being led by instructor Cathy Hodges.

Lady Grey-Thompson also met members of the home’s Amenities Committee including chairman Major-General Michael Carlton-Weedy.

The committee helps raise funds to directly benefit the residents at Lister House by funding outings and social events and purchasing a mini bus and coach.
