A MELMERBY based logistics company has raised more than £6,000 for Saint Michael’s Hospice.

Potter Group Logistics raised the money over 12 months having adopted the hospice as their charity of the year.

Activities included car washes, dress-down days and sponsorship from the 12 walkers took part in last year’s Sunrise Walk. The amount raised by the fundrising drive of £3,280 was then matched by the company and head office staff were able to present £6,560 to the charity.

Matthew Lamb, Managing Director of Potter Group Logistics, who with his family took part in the Sunrise Walk, said: “We are glad to support our staff in this very worthwhile effort, and we are delighted that we can benefit a charity like Saint Michael’s Hospice which plays such an important role in our community.”
