Avid bird watchers will be able to try out birding telescopes, binoculars and microscopes at a special demonstration day on Nosterfield Nature Reserve.

Grovers on Northallerton High Street has joined up with the reserve to give twitchers a chance to try a wide range of products on Sunday, May 6.

Between 9.30am and 4pm, scopes including a very bright five-inch diameter model capable of 80x more magnification and ones with ED glass will be on show.

Organiser Marcus Grover said: “Nosterfield is a great place to hold this event with many bird species guaranteed to be there.

“We have an interpretation room with a great view if the weather is not quite right and we will have a range of microscopes in there too. Hopefully some will bring their own traditional high quality branded scopes along.”

Grovers will also be co-hosting a stargazing event on Sutton Bank in November. Last year’s night attracted 150 people and more than 70 telescopes.
