A young cricketer dropped into his old school before captaining the junior North Yorkshire Cricket team on his home ground.
Cameron O’Donnell, who left North Stainley School last year was cheered on by former schoolmates as he prepared for the match.
The local lad is an active member of the North Stainley Cricket Club and was getting ready to meet the Bradford U12 team.
Elizabeth Watts, head teacher said: “Cameron was a lovely student and always represented the school well including the school cluster cricket competition when he captained the team to victory prior to leaving North Stainley to attend Ripon Grammar School.
“We are all so proud of his achievements.”
Junior coach at the club, John Skinner said he was delighted at Cameron’s success.
“Cameron is a good ambassador for the sport. He makes the most of living near the ground and is regularly practising with his friends, this is the first of two Yorkshire junior matches the club is hosting, on Sunday, July 17 it will be the girls turn to play a match at the ground.”
