CELEBRITY food writer and TV presenter Stefan Gates has presented Boroughbridge High School with the prestigious Food for Life Partnership Silver Award for its commitment to transforming food culture in the region.

A total of 11 schools from the North of England were commended for their achievements at the Food for Life Partnership Northern Awards Ceremony held at Manchester Town Hall.

Headteacher Elaine Dixon said: “This is a great achievement and recognition of the hard work and importance the pupils and staff at the school have placed on food and its sustainability.

“This can be shown by our continuing commitment to school meals, and also the recent Challenge Day on food for Year 8s and, of course, the Fabulous Food Festival which was a great success.”
