A Lightwater Valley employee from Ripon is preparing to leave for the job of her dreams working at Walt Disney World in Florida.
Sarah Metcalfe will be representng British Culture in the world showcase area of the USA tourist attraction as part of Disney’s Cultural Representative Programme.
The 21-year-old said: “This is the opportunity of a lifetime for me.
“I will be living and breathing the atmosphere at Disney 24 hours a day, living in on-site accommodation with young people from all over the world who are taking part in the programme”
Sarah has worked at Lightwater Valley as a seasonal employee for four years, working her way up from attendant to senior ride operator.
She has just graduated from a stage management degree at Rose Bruford College in London and will spend 10 months at Walt Disney World before returning to the UK.
Sarah said: “I think my background at Lightwater gives me a really good grounding and I definitely think I’ll be back after Disney.”
Lightwater Valley has re-opened its Angry Birds After School Club for the new term. It is open term-time weekdays from 4-6pm (last admission 5.30pm).
Entrance to the Angry Birds Activity Park (when purchased without entry to the theme park) is £5 per child, with adults going free.
