Ex-shop manager sentenced for theft

THE former manager of The Original Factory Shop in Ripon has been sentenced to 150 hours of unpaid work after pleading guilty to theft.

Casandra Moore, formerly of The Shepherdies in North Stainley but who now lives in Huddersfield, appeared before York Crown Court last week.

The defendant and her husband, Phillip Moore, had appeared before Harrogate magistrates in January on a joint charge of theft after stock stolen from the shop on Fishergate was sold at a car boot sale in Scorton, near Richmond.

The charge against Mr Moore was later dropped by prosecutors.
