A CHARITY which provides vital support to service personnel and their families has been given a £200 boost thanks to members of Ormskirk Ladies’ Group.

Diane Hampson, chairwoman of the group, visited RAF Leeming to present the cheque for the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA) to Squadron Leader Andy Cavaghan, Chairman of the Royal Air Force Leeming SSAFA In-Service committee.

SSAFA help and support serving and former members of the Armed Forces and their families.

Last year alone, SSAFA’s professional staff and trained volunteers provided a reliable, caring and trusted service to more than 50,000 people.

“Without kind donations from groups such as the Ormskirk Ladies, our work within the SSAFA In-Service committee would be very difficult indeed,” said Sqn Ldr Andy Cavaghan.
