Hambleton residents are being reminded that there is only one more green waste collection left this year.
The last collections take place the week commencing December 5 before being suspended over the winter months. The green collections will restart the week commencing March 12.
And this year, to help residents continue to recycle garden waste, each household is eligible to receive two free degradable sacks – they are available from December 12 to collect from the council offices in Northallerton, Stokesley and Easingwold, and from the leisure centres in Bedale, Thirsk and Sowerby. Extra sacks can also be purchased from these offices.
The sacks can be put out for collection the week commencing January 16 – with the Christmas tree collections – or when green collections start again on March 12.
Christmas trees can be placed at the kerbside if under six foot tall – if they are taller they must be chopped up and put in the green wheelie bin.
