Businesses from across the district are invited to the launch of its new destination management organisation at Harrogate International Centre on Tuesday.
Visit Harrogate will aim to increase the number of visitors to Harrogate and the surrounding area, whose economy is largely dependent on trourism and the conference trade.
The launch, which takes place from 11am to 12.30pm, will feature an exhibition and presentations from the organisation on how it plans to boost visitor numbers, and will also see the introduction of a new website – www.visitharrogate.co.uk – which will highlight the best assets of the district, which embraces Boroughbridge, Knaresborough, Masham, Nidderdale and Ripon.
Visit Harrogate chairman Peter McCormick OBE said: “This is the first time that all the towns in the district have been involved in a single initiative to promote them.
“Each area attracts visitors and it would be great if we could encourage them to widen their stay by visiting other places in the district while they are here.
“The establishment of Visit Harrogate is an important step forward in making that happen.”
