Masham tennis players will be the envy of their opponents when their match night teas are served after a town business offered their services to the club.

The town’s Fancy That Tearoom has volunteered to sponsor players by providing them with freshly made match night teas, meaning they no longer have to rely on a rota of players to feed the Masham team and their competitors.

Kathryn Holland, a committee member at Masham Tennis Club, said: “This transforms an enjoyable evening of tennis into an occasion which will become the envy of other clubs!

“Individual club players usually have to provide a match tea for visiting teams and this can always be a bit of a hit and miss affair due to the pressures of modern day life. We are really grateful to Fancy That Tearoom for such a generous offer.”

Sue Ebbage, her son Jamie – a qualified baker - and Holly, of Fancy That Tearoom wanted to support local community activities and got involved one they realised they could help the club out.

“We are so pleased to contribute by doing what we do best.” said Sue.

Fancy That will also be donating teas for the competitors in the club’s Annual Tournament on Sunday, August 28.

“I fully expect more members wanting to play in matches and the Tournament Tea will round off a great event and is sure to put the icing on the cake.” Kathryn added.
