The New Year brings a new look to swimming timetables at Hambleton district’s four leisure centres.

Following customer feedback from the recent Big Swim Survey – as well as pool attendance and usage figures – the district council-run centres are making changes to their swimming programmes.

Sessions that were poorly attended have been reviewed, 60+ swims will now be open to the over-50s, lane swimming sessions have increased, and there are more slots for junior swimming lessons.

The pool in Northallerton has seen the biggest changes with several new sessions added to the programme and a change to opening hours – the pool will now close at 9pm, from Monday to Thursday.

There is a new adult swim session on Sunday afternoons, from 2.30 - 3.30pm, followed by a new family fun zone session.

Extra general-lane swimming has also been added, including every Thursday from 11am - 1pm. That session is followed by an additional Aquafit (Latino-style) class at 1.15 pm.
