TWO dozen Scouts from the 1st Northallerton troop enjoyed a week’s summer camp at Masham for the first week of the school holidays.

The summery weather provided a pleasant back drop to outdoor activities including raft building, pioneering, hiking, archery and cooking for themselves on wood fires all week.

They had days out to Diggerland, near Durham City, and to Richmond. Scout leader Duncan Wallace said: “We are very grateful to Swinton Estates and and to the farmer, Andrew Scott-Paul, for allowing us to use the land.”
