A RIPON family will be tackling a gruelling four day ascent of Africa’s highest mountain.
Richard and Hazel Marsden will be joined on the trip by their son Peter, 17, and daughter and son-in-law Katie, 25, and Rob Harrison, 27.
“Rob and I have wanted to do this for a long time,” said Katie and my mum and dad decided they would come with us, then we all decided to do it together.”
The trip took on an extra significance when they decided to raise money for charity Hope for Children which helps orphaned and disadvantaged children. The family hope to raise £1000.
“We are all excited because it’s going to be an adventure but it will be hard work and the one thing we are worried about is the altitude sickness because we don’t know how it will affect us.”
