Guests at Kiplin Hall are being invited to a special fundraising afternoon tea.

‘Lord and Lady Tyrconnel’ will be hosting the tea on Saturday, September 22 at the hall.

Guests are requested to arrive at 3pm, when they will be met by the butler, ‘Henry Toplis’.

All need to be seated for a Victorian-style tea at 3.30pm.

Tea will be served by the ‘parlour maids’.

During the course of the afternoon soprano, Christine Occleston, will entertain the guests and after tea Peter and Valerie Holt will talk about the Victorian tea party.

The fund-raiser is being organised by the Friends of Kiplin Hall.

Before the afternoon tea there is another event in the diary.

On September 17 there is Art in an English Country House -Paintings from the Grand Tour.

Art historian Sandra Pollard will reveal the story, imagery and symbolism in works brought to Kiplin Hall by the families who owned the house in the 18th and 19th centuries.

The talk starts with background detail regarding the genre of paintings to be discussed then the group move around the house, looking at the Kiplin Hall paintings.

Tickets are £14 per person.

Coffee, tea and cake, plus admission to the Hall in the afternoon are included in the price.

The talk runs from 10am to noon.
