THE carnival atmosphere came to the Majestic Hotel in Harrogate last week as some of the performers for HEARTS Festival's Music Hall Ball donned their costumes for a dress rehearsal.
The Music Hall Ball is HEARTS Community Festival's first fundraising event in 2010 with much more fun and entertainment to come over the summer months.
HEARTS Festival organiser Kelly Gavaghan is also a member of the Cultural District Partnership
, formed by Harrogate Council to help drive forward arts and culture in the district.
"I am certain that with the Hearts Festival plans combined with Harrogate International Festival's fantastic programme we can compliment each other and really make Harrogate a destination for the arts. 2010 is shaping up to be an exciting year for the town."
"We wanted to set the mood for HEARTS with our vibrant, colourful, fun, energetic and traditional, British Music Hall style show that has been beautifully choreographed by James White, artistic director of White Diamond Entertainment."
Simon Shaw, Knaresborough's town crier and entertainer has also risen to the occasion - on his trademark stilts of course - and is delighted to be helping HEARTS to raise funds, "I just love the fact that the money raised is being used to help promote arts in Harrogate as well as to raise money for the stunning Royal Hall restoration project. It's high time there was a community festival that the whole town can get involved with and enjoy."
Tickets are only £38 for The Music Hall Ball which includes a champagne reception, three course meal and a full Music Hall Style show and dancing until midnight.
The fundraising event takes place on Friday, March 19 from 7.30pm. For ticket bookings please visit our website www.heartsfestival.co.uk or contact Kelly Gavaghan on 07982 443067.
