IT WAS like an episode from Sir Alan Sugar's 'The Apprentice' when students at Bedale High School set up as entrepreneurs.
The 180 Year 10 students faced the challenge of posing as competing catering companies and putting in bids to cater for a social event for 100 people.
The activities were part of NatWest's MoneySense for Schools, a national programme set up by the bank to develop business and financial skills among young people.
Coach Susan Jenkins said: "I have been really impressed with the creativity and business acumen the young people have shown. It's been great to see the team work displayed by the members of the different 'companies' and to watch their self-confidence grow as the day went on."
Wayne Prout, from Bedale High School, said: "The students had a great day, taking part in activities which we would not cover as part of the curriculum."
